The reason;

My mother and father, Mary and Chuck Bryce, found out their son, Justin Allen Bryce, was diagnosed with cancer in 2001, at 9 years old. He had stage 4 cancer by the time they found out. He was admitted to different hospitals around their area, then finally went to duPont Hospital in Wilmington, Deleware. They tried hard to save him, trying every possible way. Justin and his mom, dad, brother, and I, his sister, stayed with him every step of the way. His older brother, Eric, was only 10 years old and always tried to make him happy, and be there for him. I, Kaitlin, just turned 6. and didn't know very much about what was happening, but traveled from Greene to Deleware every weekend with my father and brother. The Make-A-Wish foundation gave Justin some wishes he had, come true. He was given the postion Sargent in the army. His half-brother, Ray, was also in the army at the time. He was always interested in the military. Late 2001, early 2002, he got a tortoise. He loved tortoises, and Lori Green gave him one. The tortoise was the size of a chicken egg, now he's grown a lot. He will be a generation pet for many years. Justin named him Brave because he always had to be brave for treatments and other things. Another passion of Justin's was legos. He loved to build legos. He built well over 100 different legos while in the hospital and before he got sick. My family still has most of his legos. Also, while he was in the hospital, he met a kid named Zach Kull. His mom, Jill Kull, became really good friends of my mom. They still talk today and have a good friendship. Jill lives Florida, though, so it's hard to go and see her. At one time, Zach wasn't doing so well, Justin was devistated. My mom told him to pray. His prayer was, "Please take my life instead of Zach's." Zach and Justin became good friends and he wanted didn't want to lose Zach. Around Christmas time  in 2002, Justin was doing well enough to come home for the holidays. On Chirstmas night, around 8 o'clock, Justin passed in our living room. He lived a short life and we miss him terrible. Now our family is all about helping children and donating as much as we can to Children's hospitals, resaearch centers, anything that can help. I believe that there is a cure for cancer and that cancer can't live forever.
